Movie: Casino Royale

Starring: Daniel Craig, Eva Green, Mads Mikkelsen and Judi Dench

Notes:

To all those critics who tore the movie apart with their predcitions of failure. Daniel Craig has made you eat your words. Personally I was surprised to see a blond Bond and more so a English Bond after his Irish, Scotish and Welsh predecessors I thought Daniel Craig got real lucky. But in fact he earned his Bond-ness. Casino Royale is not your average Bond movie with just booming, banging and smart quirks. Its interesting and quite refreshing. You can tella lot of thinking went into this movie and not just text book Bond tricks. It is though sad NOT to see Q anywhere as he always brightens up the movie with his gadgets and clever comebacks. Yet what lacks in the gadgets area is made up by the smart thinking and impressive poker scenes. For some reason, after watching this Bond movie I felt good, not just exhilirating good because of the action, but I felt intelectually stimulated. The miracle is the director kept it all simple. Brilliant acting shows how far you can go without using big explosions. Well done to Danel Craig for freshening up Bond.

Movie: ERAGON

Starring: Edwards Speleers, Jeremy Irons and Sienna Guillory

Notes:

At first I thought, not another Dungeons and Dragons movie flop! But once I gave it a chance this movie started getting interesting. Especially when the the Dragon's voice was done by Rachel Weisz. Eragon, based on a boy who finds out that he's destined to be a Rider, has ring of Lord of the Rings(excuse the pun) to it, but not as long and drawn out. I

t plays out well and any person who enjoys fantasy would appreciate this movie. I would advise little kiddies to watch this as the look of the baddie would give them nightmares. But then again, we live in the era where 7 year olds laugh at Freddie Kruger, so it all up to mommy and daddy. The biggest problem with this movie is its abrupt ending. It tries hard to end like Matrix: Relaoded but just ends up causing people to throw pocorn at the screen. Brom (Jeremy Irons, being his classic self), plays a really cool yet, mysterious magician, that helps Eragons( Edwards Speleers) to become a Rider. Arya( played by Sienna Guillory from Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) Does well looking foxy and yet innocent as a Mage.
This movie provides good entertainment for those looking for some time away from the dramas and failed attempts of comedy.

Man of the Year

Movie title: Man of the Year

Starring: Robin Williams , Christopher Walken

and Laura Linney.

Notes:

Robin Williams once again succeeds in poking fun at a system that needs change in reality. The elections in the United States of America. Man of the Year runs along the same lines as his previous successful movie, Patch Adams. This time he plays Tom Dobbs, a comedic political analyst who presents a political talk show in the US. Just like Patch Adams, Tom Dobbs decides to take matters into his own hands and run for president of the US. This movie is very entertaining and for those of you who follow his stand-up comedy will appreciate the way he uses his political jokes to spice up boring talk about the Democrats and the Republicans and their cat fights during elections. Christopher Walken also makes an appearance as supporting actor and gives us his stylish yet interesting mentor approach. This movie is well worth your dough at the cinema. If you're a Robin Williams fan, you ought to be running to the box office to see Robin Willaims do it...his way.
